The 6 hour road trip from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro and back. USA Mike, Brazil Mike, and Casey on via the Dutra (BR 116).

The General Dutra toll motorway from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo is one of the worlds great long distance drives. It includes spectacular mountain passes and impressive scenery. Only the most general precautions (above) need be taken on this roadway. The previous text is from here.

Pretty safe drive althought we were pulled over 4 times by corrupt cops, going to Rio and back. Michel said that it was because we had a surfboard on top. The cops want to find drugs to extort money from you. They figure surfers have drugs.
