Love it or loathe it, Maggie's is a Beijing institution with a reputation -- most newcomers to the city hear about it long before ever setting foot there. What at first sight appears to be nothing more than just another cheesy nightclub with all-night disco hits and a pool table, soon reveals itself as one of Beijing's most blatant meat-markets. Hostesses encourage patrons to drink, dance and part with their money in any number of ways, both on and off the premises. If all you are after is late-night beer and dancing, Maggie's is probably best visited in a group.
