The Palace Museum (The Forbidden City to Westerners)

This place was great. Equal in historical significance and grandeur to Versailles but very different from the perspective of a westerner. If you go, take the audio tour. It was fantastic and narrated by James Bond (Really! Roger Moore). It was the first real English we had heard in a while. All we've heard in Beijing was Chin-lish if we were lucky. If you don't take the audio tour you would have been lost. I wouldn't recommend the 842,123 Chinese folks offering to give tours outside the front gate. Entrace to the palance was 40 RMB and the audio tour was 40 RMB (about $5). I'm not going to mention too much here, I would screw it up. If you are interested, look it up on the internet HERE, or go to Beijing yourself. You won't be disappointed.
